![]() ![]() Somewhere else in the cave, sounds of very rapid scribbling, and creatures could be heard. Since the aforementioned feline isn't the protagonist of this story, it is safe to assume she'll end up without a life or even without half of her soul at some point. The brown cat tried to find the way out and dropped an item she had been holding, but that does not matter. Somewhere in the world, a Mobian had been the victim of a prank involving that exact song and found herself inside of a cave, somewhere in the world. A song about rolling or something? It's a legitimately great take on what a more narrative-focused Sonic game could be and fits perfectly into the existing canon despite what the Steam page suggests (the aforementioned final shot is the only thing I noticed that could potentially make it non-canon depending on whether Sage gets revived in her original form after Frontiers). ![]() I feel like calling this a mere April Fool's game is selling it short, especially since there's nothing absurd about it aside from the surface level gag of "lol Sonic dies". The ending was also amazing, that final shot of Sage and Metal Sonic wearing "Let's Go Dad" t-shirts was just perfect. Everyone was written wonderfully, it had a nice sense of humor throughout without feeling overly silly or referential, and right when I felt like it was starting to get a little formulaic they threw in the Rouge/Blaze heist segment to keep things fresh which ended up being my favorite part of the game. I really loved this, especially the Dream Gear segments which were a cool way of adding that special Sonic touch to a visual novel. ![]()
